SENATE RESOLUTION 26

Congratulating Hurricane High School on being the 2025 AAAA Boys State Soccer champions.

Whereas, The 2025 AAAA Boys State Soccer Championship marked the first year the AAAA classification was ever offered, making this championship a historic milestone in the state’s athletic history; and

Whereas, The team captured the inaugural AAAA Boys State Soccer Championship, forever establishing itself as the first champions in this new classification; and

Whereas, The team completed an exceptional season with an impressive overall record of 18 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie, demonstrating consistency, determination, and excellence throughout the season; and

Whereas, The players displayed outstanding athletic skill, teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance, serving as role models for fellow students and athletes across the state; and

Whereas, The championship team roster includes the following student-athletes: Seth Casto; Harris Coulter; Peyton Gum; Nile Green; Logan Flora; Jackson Willis; Connor Jackson; Lex Board; Conner Price; Landon Stonestreet; Nate Giertz; Theo Carter; Brandon Eckhart; Gavin Vance; Luke Price; Alex Anderson; Juan Placco; Blake Benson; Carter Borchers; Nathan Boyer; Tatum Kelly; Wyatt Shane; Matthew Kerrigan; Michael Nelson; Austin Street; Nicholas Castro; Samuel Castellano; Holden Fife; Korbyn Powell; Abraham King; Cole Angel; Tanner Gum; Jackson Green; Carter Fortney; Mason Halstead; and Abraham King; and

Whereas, The success of the team reflects the dedication, leadership, and commitment of its coaching staff, including Head Coach Kent Bailey and Assistant Coaches Braeden Collins, Jacob Perdew, and Jim Dagostine, whose guidance and mentorship were instrumental in achieving this championship; and

Whereas, This historic accomplishment has brought pride and recognition to Hurricane High School, families, and community; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby congratulates Hurricane High School on being the 2025 AAAA Boys State Soccer champions; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Senate recognizes the 2025 AAAA Boys State Soccer Champions on winning the first ever AAAA Soccer State Title; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Head Coach Kent Bailey of Hurricane High school soccer team.
