SENATE RESOLUTION 6

Whereas, Custodians’ daily efforts ensure that classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, and common areas are properly maintained, sanitary, and functional, supporting both health and academic success; and
Whereas, School custodians often work behind the scenes, responding to emergencies, addressing maintenance needs, and going above and beyond their job duties to ensure schools are prepared for learning each day. They are also to be commended for their compassion and impact on student well-being; and
Whereas, School custodians demonstrate dedication, reliability, and pride in their work and contribute significantly to the overall success, safety, and well-being of school communities; and
Whereas, School custodians serve as trusted members of the school family, building relationships with students and staff while demonstrating professionalism, care, and commitment; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the invaluable service of West Virginia school custodians and the vital role they play in our public schools; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to School Service Personnel Association representatives, Michele Blatt, WV State Superintendent of Schools, and David Hallinan.
